The Green Motors Practices Group™ "Craftsmen Saving Energy" |

The Green Motors Practices Group’s objective is to promote energy efficient systems – not just motors – while sustaining efficiency, in order to differentiate our member service center’s delivered finished products and services within the market.
Our newly formed non-profit organization has begun recruiting member service centers throughout western North America. The group’s initial focus has been on the Pacific Northwest, but with additional Green Motor Initiative commitments from electric utilities the Group has met and exceeded expectations. Green Motors operates in conjunction with and supports the Electrical Apparatus Service Association, Inc (EASA) activities. The group’s board members are members of EASA, however, membership in the Green Motors Practices Group is not exclusive to EASA members.
Our goal is for members to help industry take a whole systems approach, commitment to Continuous Improvement of motor driven systems, and quality-controlled repair practices, the Green Motors Practices Group distinguishes itself from the “good enough” service centers in the market. Green Motors Practices strives to assist North American industries to consider long-term solutions rather than short-term hasty repairs or misguided component replacements. Being concerned about a 1 percent loss in efficiency from having a single motor rewound or the possible gains from purchasing a new NEMA Premium™ motor is a good start. To take the next step the Green Motors Practices Group is available to provide resources to assist industry in implementing Continuous Improvement to motor driven systems and to obtain the 20 percent and greater reduction in operating costs a systems approach provides. Energy prices are eating away at industry’s margins, and so it's a good time for electric motor users to be plugged in to energy management. If your motor service center isn’t aware of or hasn’t committed to the Green Motors Practices Group, we suggest you request that they look into it. The perfect end result would be a Continuous Improvement systems partner who is familiar with your key performance indicator improvement needs and as committed as you are to energy efficiency.
